Welcome

Home is where the heart is …

Gardens of Beam Street Nantwich Almshouses

Steeped in history, Nantwich is famed for its black and white buildings, pretty streets and floral displays.

Visitors flock to soak up its old world charm and be part of huge, crowd-pulling festivals.

Behind its success lies a community spirit stretching back centuries.

Nantwich Almshouses stand testament to a generosity of spirit towards its townspeople affectionately termed ‘Dabbers’.

Although part of the history trail, these properties are far from being museum pieces.

Filled with life and friendship, they offer homes in the heart of Nantwich for elderly folk in need.

Just as it was back in 1638, when the first Almshouses were built in Nantwich, there are thirteen Trustees who work to ensure these properties are maintained and allocated fairly.

There’s a mix of bungalows, houses and apartments – some listed structures and others more newly-built.

Trustees aim to ensure residents live out their days happily and close to family and friends in the community where they have their roots.

Accommodation is offered in accordance with the terms of the various founder charities and at the discretion of Trustees.

All circumstances are different, so please do contact us for details about how to apply to live in one of the Nantwich Almshouses.
